My Random thoughts for the day:
I got my pay stub today – it’s not an actual check because I do direct deposit (so convenient!). I added up all the time off I current have. If I were to take all my sick, vacation, and comp time, I would have enough paid time off to take 5.3 weeks off. That’s just nuts!
Fall is coming, slowly, but surely. Summer took forever to get here! I’m hoping we’ll get a nice, long fall before it starts to snow. Fall is probably my favorite time of year. Some things I love about fall: cooler weather (but not cold yet), HOODIES!!, sleeping with the window open, adding warmer blankets to my bed, the leaves changing colors, and crunching leaves on the sidewalk (yes, I will walk out of my way to do so). Don’t get me wrong – I love the summer! I love the sun and boating and all the fun summer activities. But, I love the change! I love living here where I get to experience all the seasons!
I live by lists, especially at work. I remember in college – when I would get overwhelmed by everything I needed to do, I would get a piece of paper out and list everything I needed to get done. Sometimes I even planned my days out so I knew I would have enough time to get everything done when it needed to be done. There’s something about writing everything down that makes things easier for me to handle. And, there is not a lot in this world that I love more than crossing things off my list! I LOVE it! Sometimes it’s scary how much I am like my dad! He would be proud of the lists I have made and completed in the last few days!
I changed my car insurance. I’ve been meaning to shop around again since I turned 25…it only took me a year to finally do it. I found out that I definitely did not have the best rate! It was kind of ridiculous actually. On my six-month premium, I am now saving over $100!! I probably should have done this a long time ago. Oh well.
And last, but not least – boating tomorrow with the fam! Yeah!!

Friday, August 19, 2011
I want to go to sleep and not wake up for at least 12 hours. It’s the “busy season” at work. Soccer starts tomorrow and it’s been a long couple of weeks getting everything ready – lots of late nights and early mornings. I turned my time card in yesterday. For the 2-week pay period, I had just over 100 hours. That’s 20 hours of OVERTIME!! Pretty ridiculous. And, on top of it all, I’ve seen Brad for a grand total of 30 minutes…all week! And the best part is – I get to work tomorrow, too, which means even less time I get to spend with him. Lame. Oh well. I’m grateful I have a job. And I’m grateful that I enjoy my job (for the most part), even if it means some crazy long hours during the “busy season.”
Also, how is August already half-way over?!?! I've been editing some flyers for our upcoming Jr. Jazz season and I actually had to change some dates to 2012. Crazy! As I get older, time seems to go exponentially faster! I'm not quite sure how I feel about it...
